Meet

Ms. Mac

Hello,

I'm Ms. Mac, and for nearly twenty years, I've been a dedicated special education teacher in a variety of settings. Over the course of my career I have worked in high school conduct and behavior support classrooms, self-contained life skills classrooms, and community based learning programs. I have worked in both a traditional as well as virtual classroom setting. Through my journey I've come to realize that after students age out of high school special education at ages 21 or 22, many are left without the continued support and learning opportunities they deserve. This realization sparked the creation of Life Skills Learning Hub, where I aim to bridge this gap with warmth and compassion.

As a lover of gardening, cooking, and exploring new places, I bring these passions into my teaching. My goal is to empower my students to embrace independence, nurture personal agency, and prioritize safety. Beyond academics, I believe in the importance of exploring the interests and hobbies that make life fulfilling.

In my classroom, learners aren’t just part of a class, they are part of a community. I strive to create a positive environment where students feel encouraged to be proud of who they are. I'm not just here for my students, I'm here for their learning partners too. Together we provide guidance and support for a seamless transition into the real world.

Join me on this journey of growth, discovery, and celebration of uniqueness. Together, let's empower each student to thrive and find joy in their learning.
